Job description

Job Summary $15,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants! This posting reflects an opening for a CT Technologist I, and we are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role, including CT Technologist II, based on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, acquiring and analyzing data needed for diagnosis, interpretation, and performing interventional and therapeutic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. CT Technologists independently perform or assist licensed practitioners in completing computed tomography. They prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policies.

Job Duties
  1. Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for the exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality.
  2. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, care, and applying ALARA principles.
  3. Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  4. Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality, verify archival storage and transfer of data, and perform post-processing if applicable.
  5. Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
  6. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures.
  7. Perform CT procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
