Qualifications

Job description

Overview

As our CT Tech at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions.

Every day you’ll create cross-section images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. You'll perform a variety of specialized technical tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment to assist the radiologist in the detection of anatomical abnormalities. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

Schedule: Friday - Sunday 7 am - 7 pm. Willing to train CT!

We are offering a $30,000 Sign-On Bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all CT exams within scope of practice, capable of obtaining quality radiographs of all body parts using proper exposure, markers, and shielding, and knows how to use portable x-ray machines and c-arms.
  • Instructs and educates patients regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure.
  • Able to use CR reader, erase CR cassettes, send images from CR reader, and perform image manipulation as necessary.
  • Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations. Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CDs, transfer images, and print from PACS.
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
  • Maintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department.
  • Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies.
  • Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited college or technical school for Radiologic Technology.

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Registered Technologist Radiography (RTR), required.
  • Medical Radiographer (MRAD): North Dakota, required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card, BLS-CPR within 30 days of start.
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (RTCT) within 18 months of start.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Strong oral communications skills.
  • Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Minimum of 12 months of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • CE Continuing Education qualifications for CT.
