Job Summary / Purpose

Operates diagnostic equipment and performs a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to CT. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre- and post-diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests including patient positioning, equipment calibration, and documentation of findings under the supervision of the imaging manager. Assists patients with basic care needs.

Responsibilities
  • Performs CT exams according to departmental protocols under the Medical Director's guidance.
  • Prepares and ensures equipment safety and functionality.
  • Addresses equipment failures and quality issues, contacting service as needed.
  • Maintains infection control standards through proper room and equipment maintenance.
  • Completes quality checks and maintains logs.
Additional Job Duties
  • Ensures clinical supplies are stocked in each diagnostic room.
  • Participates in patient testing, including routine and urgent requests.
  • Verifies physician orders and communicates with radiologists for protocol.
  • Provides patient education regarding procedures.
  • Performs Point of Care testing and IV starts following hospital guidelines.
  • Completes imaging and post-processing, maintains logs, and monitors radiation doses.
  • Notifies radiologists of any significant findings.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.

Required Licensure and Certifications
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • ARRT Board Certified in Radiology (RTR).
  • Valid Radiography or General Radiology Technologist license in Nebraska or Iowa.
  • ARRT Board Certified in CT within 2 years of hire.
