Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System seeks an experienced CT Technologist for weekend coverage in Perry County Imaging Services. The role focuses on high-quality diagnostic CT procedures, patient safety, and interventional support as needed.

Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, adjusting parameters, contrast administration, and collaboration with physicians and imaging teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and excellent patient care.

Qualifications

  • Must be ARRT CT registered and Ohio licensed in Radiology.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiology Technologist.
  • Must obtain ARRT CT registry within 2 years of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT scanner and imaging equipment per exam protocols.
  • Adjust technical factors for diagnostic quality and patient condition.
  • Assist physicians in CT-guided procedures as required.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under physician direction.
  • Follow radiation safety policies and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with HIS/RIS/PACS to manage patient data and images.
  • Support patient transport to and from imaging suite.
  • Assist in education of radiology students and patients' families.

Position Details

Work Shift: Weekend Shift (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Department: Perry County Imaging Services Position will work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Overview of Position

Performs diagnostic CT procedures on assigned patients in an efficient and caring manner in order to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical problems. Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgement in the performance of services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Operates CT scanner and associated imaging equipment to complete diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  2. Produces acceptable images by determining proper technical factors (protocols, slice thickness and increments, exposure parameters, etc) based on patient diagnosis and reason for exam.
  3. Assists physicians in CT guided interventional procedures as required.
  4. Prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of a physician, appropriately utilizing and operating automatic injector for designated studies.
  5. Follows all radiation protection and radiation safety policies.
  6. Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
  7. Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department.
  8. Participates in clinical training of radiology students by providing instruction, supervision and evaluation as required.
  9. Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
  10. Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
  11. Performs other functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (or equivalent) in the appropriate specialty (radiography) and licensed by the State of Ohio in Radiology.
  2. Minimum of one year experience as a licensed Radiology Technologist.
  3. Must obtain ARRT CT registry within 2 years of hire date.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution skills.
  5. Demonstrated excellence with listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment.
  7. Strong computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to electronic imaging and clinical information management.
  8. Maintains the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  9. CPR Certified
