Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital in Cambridge, MA seeks a Radiologic Technologist for CT imaging on a scheduled and emergency basis. The role involves reviewing requisitions, selecting appropriate equipment, ensuring patient identification, and explaining procedures while addressing radiation safety and ALARA.

The position requires ARRT RT/CT certification, BLS, and an Associates in Allied Health with 1 year of CT experience. Flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine CT imaging examinations (scheduled and emergency).

• Identify patients with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam and discuss radiation exposure (ALARA) with patients/guardians.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA.

Job description

Saturday and Sunday, 6:30pm-7:00am.

Position Summary:
Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
• Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
• Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g. 3D).
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
• Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
• Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
• Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
• Practices High Reliability Training.

• Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.

Equipment

• Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.

• Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.

• Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associates degree, Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience: 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist

Licensure/ Certifications: 1. RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). 2. Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification. 3. BLS certification.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
