Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a CT Radiologic Technologist to perform routine CT imaging on scheduled and emergency cases, ensuring patient safety and adherence to QC workflows.

The role requires 1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience, ARRT RT/CT registration, and BLS certification. Education: Associates in Allied Health; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Must follow HIPAA and ALARA principles.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree, Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Licensure/ Certifications: ARRT RT/CT registered; ARRT certification; BLS certification.

Position Summary

Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
• Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
• Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g. 3D).
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
• Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
• Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
• Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
• Practices High Reliability Training.

• Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree, Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist
• Licensure/ Certifications: 1. RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). 2. Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification. 3. BLS certification.
