Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital in Illinois is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. The position features a generous hourly pay range of $39.36–$51.17 with a $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

You will maintain patient safety, produce diagnostic images, monitor procedures, and ensure documentation in medical records, with a four 10-hour shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• IEMA Accreditation and BLS are required.
• Preferred: ARRT CT or MRI certification within 12 months of hire or 10+ years directly relevant experience.

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.

Sign-on bonus available for this position: $15,000.

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

• This is a full time position at 40 hours per week located at Cahterine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital.

The schedule for this role is four 10-hour shifts per week

• Saturday & Sunday: 2:30 p.m.–12:30 a.m.
• Monday & Tuesday: 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
• A $15,000 sign on bonus is being offer to eligible applicants. **

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges. Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education :

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

Certification :

• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) or MRI certification within 12 months of hire or 10+ years directly relevant experience in lieu of certification.
• 1 year experience
