Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at Kennestone Hospital.

Technologists are valued clinical professionals within a collaborative care team, with opportunities for growth and a focus on patient safety. This full-time role offers a Friday–Sunday 8:30am–9:00pm schedule, with benefits including PTO, mental health support, wellness rooms, and access to education through CareerCare for ongoing professional

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-CT certifications, BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain diagnostic image quality.
• Disinfect rooms and report equipment issues promptly.
• Verify patient information and prepare for exams.
• Explain procedures and address patient questions to reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Document studies accurately in RIS and PACS; handle transfers as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies per protocol.
• Support department workflow and ensure compliance with regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Education High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Experience Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• Required Certifications ARRT‑R (Radiography) ARRT‑CT – ARRT Computed Tomography BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging and radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post‑care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age‑appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS and PACS, including transfers, retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life‑support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists and modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging and clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
