Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to provide high‑quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at East Cobb Health Park. You will work as part of a collaborative care team, delivering exams with attention to safety and patient comfort.

The role requires a Radiologic Technology program completion, ARRT credentials (Radiography and CT) and at least 1 year of radiology experience; BLS is required. This on‑site position offers competitive hourly pay and shift differential incentives.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT‑R (Radiography), ARRT‑CT (Computed Tomography), BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality with ALARA principles.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules and report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET, address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the visit.
• Administer contrast per protocol and use venipuncture and sterile technique when needed.
• Position patients, apply markers and shielding as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and reimage if needed.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as required.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock life‑support equipment as needed.
• Organize daily workflows and support department operations and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post‑care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age‑appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life‑support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and escalat
