Job Description:

As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic CT exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

2. Shift Details: Three 12 hour shifts, Monday - Wednesday and Thursday - Saturday, rotating days every three weeks.
3. Unit/Department: Tellica West Valley
4. Additional Details: Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekends
5. Up to $5,000 Sign On Bonus for qualified candidates.

Essential Functions

1. Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
2. Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
3. Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
4. Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
5. Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
6. Assists and instructs students and other CT Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
7. Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
8. Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
9. Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
10. Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
11. Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Licenses and Certifications
2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(RT)(R) Radiography Certification/Registration
3. Relevant State licensure (where required)
4. Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers

2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (ARRT)(RT)(CT)
3. (Where applicable) Must complete the controlled substance module
4. (Where applicable) Must complete the initial moderate sedation module
5. Specific facility-based certifications may also be required for this role. If this applies, each facility would define and manage compliance.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
2. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
3. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
4. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. This includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
5. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
6. May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
