Job summary

UAB Medicine invites applications for a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography. You will perform CT procedures under the direction of a radiologist and CT supervisor, delivering quality imaging with attention to patient safety across multiple campus locations.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT registration (RT) or NMTCB certification, with BLS readiness. A radiography degree and prior experience are preferred, with ongoing growth opportunities in a leading Level I trauma center.

Job Description

Under the direction of a radiologist and the CT supervisor, to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. To perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to render prescribed CT procedures.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Radiography program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. One (1) year experience in general radiography preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently registered as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) (R) with ARRT or currently certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Candidate will have one (1) year from hire date to become registered in Computed Tomography (CT) from ARRT or obtain CT designation from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
