Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography. You will provide imaging services under supervision of a CT Technologist and support patient positioning and exposure selection.

This role requires RT(R) licensure, ROC and BLS certifications, with CT-specific credentialing within 24 months. The department focuses on high-quality imaging and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires RT(R) licensure upon hire; ROC certification in state of Kentucky; BLS healthcare provider within 90 days
  • Education: Diploma or higher in science or related field; ARRT registration required upon hire
  • Knowledge of ALARA principles and radiology safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Assist in patient positioning and selecting exposure factors.
  • Follow radiation safety standards and ALARA principles.
  • Assist physician in imaging procedures and prepare/ administer contrast media as allowed.
  • Set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.

Job Summary

Provides imaging services to patients under the supervision of a registered CT Technologist.

Job Responsibilities

Assists to position patients and selects exposure factors accurately. Utilizes radiation protection and safety standards. Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principles to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Assists the physician in a variety of imaging procedures. May be required to prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Responsible for setting up and providing equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.

Skills and Attributes

Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under direct supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

Work Experience No experience required Education Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire Licensure/Certification/Registration RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND RT(CT) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Computed Tomography required within 24 months of employment in this position
