  • Current (R) registry by ARRT and licensure by the State of Illinois.

Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic health-caresystem at UChicago Medicine as a Computerized Tomography Scanner Technologist (CT)in theCT Department.

As a Computerized Tomography Technologist, you will have the opportunity to experience new technologies, learn and perform advanced imaging skills, and participate in various aspects of research studies and clinical trials. The Computerized Tomography Scanner Technologistperforms diagnostic imaging studies as assigned, applies principles of radiation protection, exercises professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures, provides necessary patient care during the course of imaging procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs imaging duties as assigned
  • Positions the patient being tested to insure that proper image capture is achieved
  • Selects proper technical factors
  • Utilizes computer to record patient status
  • Functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality
  • Assists physician in performing imaging studies
  • Prepares contrast media for administration to patients and assists the physician
  • Maintains technical imaging equipment to be in proper working conditioned
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment or housekeeping issues to appropriate person
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and neat
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of all necessary supplies

Required Qualifications

  • Currently in or preparing for enrollment into a local CT Technologist program.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required
  • Current (R) registry by ARRT.
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
