Job summary

AdventHealth in Aurora, CO is seeking a CT/X-ray Tech for a 13-week contract. The role includes performing exams, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. BLS CPR, RT(R), and RT(CT) ARRt certifications are required. Full-time schedule: Day shift, Fri-Sun, 6a-6:30p with 36 hours guaranteed.

Credentialing from AMA-approved radiology programs is required, with licensure as per state guidelines. Familiarity with infection control and PPE use is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in radiologic technology (AMA approved school or JCERT accreditation)
• BLS CPR certification required
• ARRT RT(R) and RT(CT) certification required

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging exams using established protocols and patient education prior to exam
• Operates imaging equipment safely and accurately meeting radiologist standards
• Minimizes radiation exposure while following infection control practices
• Positions patients and equipment to produce diagnostic images
• Performs clerical duties: scheduling, records handling, patient communication

Job Description:

CT / Xray Tech, StaffFlex 13 week contract

91.73/hr

Full-time, Fri-Sun, 6a-6:30p

2 days of call per week, and holidays

American Heart Assoc BLS - Required prior to start

• Performs all exams using established protocols, ensuring proper patient identification and education prior to the exam.


• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.


• Screens patients of childbearing age and minimizes radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers, while practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.


• Positions patients and equipment, selects technical factors, and produces radiographic images that meet Radiologist’s standards in a safe and timely manner.


• Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.


• Provides direct patient care within the technologist’s scope of practice, utilizing proper infection control techniques.


• Monitors patient condition, ensuring comfort, safety, and privacy, while obtaining and documenting patient history and explaining procedures.


• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.


• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages.


• Screens patients for any contrast allergies.


• Adapts imaging protocols as necessary.


• Performs other duties as assigned.
