Job summary

AdventHealth in Parker, Colorado seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT exams with a focus on safety and quality imaging. You will follow infection control standards, document in EMR/PACS, educate patients, and operate scanners and monitors for all ages, ensuring efficient workflow.

Requirements include 1+ year radiology/CT training, ARRRT(R) and BLS, with preference for ARRT-CT. Night shift and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of CT training program (Preferred)
  • ARRT RT(R) – Radiography required
  • ARRT-CT preferred
  • BLS required
  • Must read, write, and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures at a technical level without constant supervision
  • Follow infection control standards and use PPE
  • Follow patient ID, informed consent, and time-out procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS
  • Educate patients about exams and maintain workflow
  • Operate CT equipment safely and adapt protocols for all ages

Job Description
  • Sign-on bonus up to $20,000!
  • Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Educates patients about the exam and completes all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of CT procedures, scanners, and safety including radiation protection
  • Ability to learn and grow with new technology

  • Basic IV competency
  • General physics and anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, cardiac & vascular skills, 3D workstation skills
  • Fluent in English language
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control for accuracy
  • Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray machines and printers
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • Must read, write, and speak conversational English
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
  • Ability to provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of patient population served
  • Organizational, verbal interpersonal, customer relations, grammar/spelling competence, reading comprehension skills
  • Keyboarding, computer skills
  • Perform CT procedures at a technical level without constant supervision
  • Knowledge of communication styles and engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, physicians
  • As required, performs waived and non-waived Point of Care Testing, ensuring approved competency and documented proof at time of training
Education
  • Associate (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's (Preferred)
  • High School Grad or Equivalency (Required)
Work Experience
  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of CT training program (Preferred)
