Job Summary

Geisinger is offering CT Technologist Regional Float positions with a $25,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates and a $6/hr premium on top of the base pay rate. Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes, perform CT and molecular imaging procedures, and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis, interpretation, and interventional procedures under the direction of a licensed practitioner.

Job Duties

• Ensure correct order is obtained, the patient is properly identified and prepared for the exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, applying ALARA principles.
• Prepare and/or administer medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality; verify archival storage, transfer of data, and post‑processing if applicable.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Assist a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures.
• Perform computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Demonstrate commitment to department and organizational priorities.
• Maintain proficiency in all assigned routine and complex job duties.
• Participate in modality quality and process improvement activities.

Position Details

• Certifications required upon hire:
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for CT, or
• Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARRT‑CT.
• Education:
• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study (Preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related work experience (Required).
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Basic Life Support Certification – default issuing body.
• Certified CT Technician – ARRT.
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) – NMTCB.
• Skills: Proficiency with CT imaging protocols, knowledge of ALARA principles, patient care and safety, accurate documentation, and collaborative teamwork.
