Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures under the direction of a radiologist and CT supervisor. The role requires independent judgment and the ability to render prescribed CT procedures.

Qualifications include ARRT RT(R) registration or NMTCB certification, with one year radiography experience preferred, and BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

• One year of general radiography experience preferred.
• Work experience may not substitute education requirement.
• Current ARRT RT(R) registration or NMTCB certification required.
• Within one year from hire date to obtain CT designation (ARRT or NMTCB).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.

Job Description

Under the direction of a radiologist and the CT supervisor, to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. To perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to render prescribed CT procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Radiography program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• One (1) year experience in general radiography preferred.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Currently registered as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) (R) with ARRT or currently certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Candidate will have one (1) year from hire date to become registered in Computed Tomography (CT) from ARRT or obtain CT designation from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
