CT Technologist - Radiology - Per Diem 8 hours Variable Shift (Union, Non-Exempt)

Position Summary

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs scans, prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture images requested by a physician. Requires a minimum of two years of acute hospital experience. Under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director, the CT Technologist will perform various CT procedures according to departmental standards. Shifts rotate as assigned, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and report safety issues.
• Attend in-service classes and comply with hospital policies.
• Promote teamwork and maintain positive relationships with coworkers.
• Document examination details accurately in the PACS system.
• Use information systems effectively for duties and billing.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Assess patient conditions and demonstrate proper positioning and technique, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
• Ensure quality imaging with correct exposure and positioning.
• Operate and maintain radiological equipment safely.
• Verify examination orders, patient identity, and explain procedures to patients.
• Participate in shift rotations and work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program.

Work Experience

At least two years of hospital-based experience preferred. No prior experience required for Methodist Hospital radiology interns.

Licenses and Certifications

• ARRT Registration
• California Certified Radiologic Technologist
• California Fluoroscopy Permit
• CT ARRT
• Venipuncture Certification
• Current BLS Certification

Compensation

The hourly rate ranges from $51.00 to $64.63. Salary considerations include experience, education, skills, and organizational factors.
