This position is responsible for performing specialized radiologic procedures involving the application of prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. It provides direct patient care and may include access and administration of medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

Responsibilities
  • Performs CT and special procedures using CT scanners and angiographic high-pressure injectors.
  • Screens patients to prevent potential problems with procedures.
  • Performs angiographic or special interventional procedures.
  • Completes and verifies all requests, charges, and drug logs to maintain supplies and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity of the equipment.
  • Assists in reducing waste by properly utilizing resources and materials.
  • Proposes solutions to management for problem resolution.
  • Implements new procedures and protocols.
  • Analyzes images for quality.
  • Performs venipuncture, care of IVs, chest tubes, oxygen, and catheters.
  • Performs radiology functions in programs such as PowerChart, Teletracking, RIS, and Epic.
  • Performs post-processing and image reconstruction.
  • Restocks supplies when time permits.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Potential to perform essential functions as outlined.
  • Ability to provide care to the served population.
  • Knowledge of lifespan growth and development principles, with ability to assess patient data and provide care per policies and procedures.
  • Effective human relations and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerChart, RIS, and Epic.
Qualifications

Licenses Required:

  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through University of Utah Health RQI system (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in Utah.
  • ARRT Registration as a Computed Tomography Technologist R.T.(CT)(ARRT).
  • Additional licenses as determined by the hiring department.
