Qualifications

Site: Orlando Health Pinellas Park Freestanding ER

Schedule: Per Diem (Pool/PRN)

The CT technologist provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Essential Functions

1. Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor conducive to quality care.
2. Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
3. Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality.
4. Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
5. Assess the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
6. Provide instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
7. Perform proper patient identification, acquire clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
8. Position patient, equipment, and manipulate technical factors for high-quality images.
9. Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification.
10. Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
11. Participate in Quality Control standards and tasks.
12. Proficiently administer contrast medication with and without power injectors.
13. Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as prescribed.
14. Administer medical aid in case of adverse reactions or emergencies.
15. Use standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
16. Supervise student technologists and train new technologists.
17. Utilize all radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
18. Ensure safety of all customers.
19. Maintain punctual attendance per policies and regulations.
20. Follow all policies, guidelines, and education requirements.
21. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
22. Provide patient transport as needed.

Education/Training

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

1. Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist license by the State of Florida.
2. Valid ARRT certification or NMTCB in CT.
3. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
