Position Title:
CT Technologist PRN (Levels 1-2) - Mobile Lung Screening Unit
Department:

Job Description:

CT Technologist PRN Positions are available at levels 1-2, depending on experience and education.

***This position will be a part of the new Mobile Lung Cancer Screening unit. All scans will be performed without contrast on self-ambulatory individuals. General Description:

Under general supervision, produces specialized images to aid the medical staff in the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients using computed tomography equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operates a computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Informs patient of the procedure positions and immobilizes patient and set up any supportive devices necessary to obtain an adequate scan.
  • Provides patient care essential to the performance of various procedures.
  • Positions patients to demonstrate desired anatomy.
  • Administers contrast/medication in conjunction with imaging procedures.
  • Enters technical data into the computer; evaluates radiographs and computer-generated information to ensure quality.
  • Serves as a resource for hospital and medical staff.
General Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Level 1):

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program or within six weeks of graduation. CAAHEP accredited program with emphasis in cardiovascular or radiologic technology preferred.

Experience: 0-3 years of experience; CT experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: ARRT registration required within 6 months of hire. Advanced Certification in CT by ARRT required within 12 months. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Minimum Qualifications (Level 2):

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program; CAAHEP accreditation preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technologist. Specialty experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: CT credentials required by the hiring department must be current. BLS certification required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and Computer Aided Tomography. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Ability to organize and analyze data.
