Job summary

Envision Radiology is seeking a PRN CT Technologist at our Allen/Wylie/Plano, TX locations. The role performs CT examinations, positions patients, and conducts cross-sectional scans to provide accurate images and data for radiologist interpretation.

Responsibilities include patient education, coordinating with Radiologist, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced outpatient setting. PRN position with competitive pay and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of CT experience preferred.
• Ability to educate patients on procedures.

• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients to obtain medical history and explains the procedure to ensure best image quality.
• Reviews patient charts for missing information and implants, allergies, etc.
• Obtains prior films/exams and performs high-quality scans for radiologist interpretation.
• Cares for the patient during the exam and notifies if condition changes.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and inspects equipment and reports deficiencies promptly.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist and Center/Area Manager regarding department concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Envision Imaging seeks a PRN CT Technologist at our Allen/Wylie/Plano, TX location!

PRN (As-Needed) | Position Pay Range: $35.35 - $45.57

Summary/Objective

The CT Technologists preforms CT examinations, positions patient, and performs cross-section anatomical scans using proper technical factors and computer programs to provide image and numerical values of tissue density.

Essential Functions

• Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
• Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
• Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
• Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
• Transfers images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
• Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two plus years’ experience in Computed Tomography (CT) – preferred
• Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
• Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
• Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
• Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
