Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Colorado is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist with CT specialization to perform CT and radiographic examinations while ensuring image quality and patient safety. You will support radiologists and communicate pertinent data back to the care team.

Responsibilities include maintaining exam room readiness, verifying patient information, and using HIS/PACS systems. Must have ARRT CT credentials and BLS; hospital experience preferred; HIPAA compliance required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  • Perform Radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  • Review examinations for technical accuracy and communicate data to care team.
  • Monitor inventory and keep exam room stocked and neat.
  • Verify patient identity and exam order consistency.
  • Maintain communication with patients, families and care team.
  • Follow department policies, safety, infection control, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Utilize HIS and PACS for documentation.

Performs diagnostic CT and radiographic examinations, ensures image quality, patient safety, radiation safety, and patient and physician satisfaction.

This position is PRN or as needed. Eligible for 16% PRN Shift differential.

What you will do:
  1. Performs all CT examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  2. Performs all Radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  3. Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to radiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  4. Monitor inventory of supplies and orders when stock is low. Keeps the exam room stocked and neat.
  5. Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis. Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
  6. Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
  7. Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
  8. Maintains working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
  9. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:
  • Minimum One year of experience preferred, experience in a healthcare setting required.
License(s):
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Computed Tomography (CT) credentials: R.T.(R )(CT)(ARRT) required
Certification(s):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay: $41.72—$57.56 USD
