Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology is required.
  • ARRT-R (Radiography) certification is required.
  • ARRT-CT certification is required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and use technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
  • Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
  • Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET and address patient questions to reduce anxiety.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
  • Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
  • Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
  • Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are finalized in RIS/PACS.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with crash cart and life-support equipment as required.
  • Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and collaborate with technologists to support department flow.

Required Qualifications

  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required.
  • Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
  • Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor.
