Job summary

Akumin's Deltona facility is seeking a CT Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis. You will ensure patient safety, screen for contraindications to radiation and contrast, and produce high-quality CT images while maintaining clear communication with radiologists and patients.

The role requires ARRT CT registry or NMTCB eligibility where allowed, state license, CPR, and strong patient-service skills. Training for new technologists or patient coordinators and equipment troubleshooting are also

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • ARRT CT registry required.
  • NMTCB CT certification acceptable in lieu of ARRT in some states.
  • State license in medical imaging, if applicable.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Active State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast.
  • Perform high quality CT studies.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists and patients.
  • Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
  • Troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment.

CT Technologist – Deltona Facility (PRN)

We are currently hiring for a CT Technologist at our Deltona facility. This will be a PRN position. The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections.
  • Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
  • Produces high quality diagnostic images.
  • Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
  • Trains new technologist and/or PC's.
  • Trouble‑shouts the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience;
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.
  • If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
  • State license.
  • Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
  • CPR certification.
  • Technologists performing mid-day moves.
  • Active State Driver’s License.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
