Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking a CT imaging technologist to perform routine CT examinations, ensuring quality control and data integrity for both scheduled and emergency cases.

You will identify patients, explain procedures with ALARA radiation safety, and select appropriate equipment to visualize normal and pathological anatomy while maintaining documentation and collaborating with the department.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Allied Health; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One year of radiologic technologist experience.
• ARRT RT/CT certification and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts CT scans, evaluates requisitions, and abstracts data from patient charts to determine procedure appropriateness.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers and explains procedures, including radiation safety practices (ALARA).
• Selects proper equipment and technical settings to visualize normal and pathological anatomy.
• Assesses patient and family needs, providing supportive care and responding to questions.
• Reports equipment issues, assists in daily operations, and maintains accurate documentation.
• Participates in departmental meetings, adheres to policies (HIPAA, ETU), and practices high reliability training.
• Engages in ongoing professional development, maintaining licensure and certifications.
