Job Summary of the CT Technologist

The CT Tech coordinates imaging services, monitors clerical functions, ensures efficient patient throughput, and performs CT scans and radiographs per ARRT standards to assist diagnosis or treatment. Responsibilities include applying patient care principles, training staff, and following ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures accurately.
  • Operate CT equipment proficiently.
  • Understand human anatomy and physiology.
  • Document exam findings.
  • Communicate relevant patient information to physicians.
  • Apply radiation safety principles.
  • Participate in rotating call schedules.
  • Assist in other department areas as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology.
  • Graduate from an accredited radiology program or equivalent military training.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of CT experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (TMB).
  • ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
