About the Job
Under the direction of the CT Team Leader, performs a variety of CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
What you will do
- Identify and archive patient's images. Maintain records of exams.
- Responsible for proper identification on images, including both identification and demographic information 100% of the time.
- Document all related data. Maintain appropriate records of examinations and CT procedure log 100% of the time.
- Identify, process, transfer, and archive patient exams including exam records, images, and patient demographics.
- Maintain the integrity and security of the radiology information systems 100% of the time.
- Administration
- Conducts self in a professional manner
- Subject to on-call status including weekends and holidays.
- Refers any unresolved problems relating to staffing, morale, work methods, discipline, and other activities to the CT Team Leader Technologist 100% of the time.
- Promotes professionalism, continuing education, and staff development 100% of the time.
- Participates in the formal in-service program provided for the Radiology Complex 95% of the time.
- Responds promptly and positively to patients, families, associates, and others in a respectful, courteous, and confidential manner.
- Always maintains identifiable/professional attire, including using nametags and ID cards.
- Follows hospital and department procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Greets patients, families, co-workers, and others in a calm, professional, friendly manner; makes eye contact, initiates conversation, and identifies self by name.
- Attends mandatory sessions/meetings/in-services.
- Adheres to attendance policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of CHOP and department policies and procedures.
- Reviews policy and procedure updates from managers and CHOP.
- Resolves or escalates complex issues.
- Monitors CHOP email regularly to stay informed about scheduling updates, workflow, policies, and other relevant information.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Provides or facilitates a clean, safe, quiet, and secure environment for all.
- Reports any unusual/deficient incidents to supervisor and/or Security.
- Corrects and/or reports unsafe, unsecured, or unclean environments to supervisor and/or Environmental, Health and Safety, or Facilities departments.
- Always takes breaks away from patient and family areas.
- Keeps self and work area neat and organized.
- Participates collaboratively in staff meetings, committees, projects, and teams to resolve conflicts and meet institutional goals.
- Attends staff meetings as requested 100% of the time. Recognized as an informed participant or committee member by peers. Completes assignments on time 100% of the time.
- Reviews and contributes to departmental and CHOP goals annually.
- Participates and contributes to team projects.
- Demonstrates knowledge of continuous quality improvement values and participates in CHOP and departmental Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Identifies own learning needs and obtains necessary education to meet position requirements.
- Attends mandatory education programs 100% of the time.
- Documents and reports all necessary education and training.
- Applies education and training to daily work to enhance skills.
- Reviews learning needs with supervisor to set educational goals annually.
- Follows CHOP and departmental cost control standards: monitors usage of supplies and equipment to minimize waste.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to render age-appropriate care and services based on developmental needs.
- Provides Family Centered Care.
- All other duties as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications
- Computed Tomography (CT) - ARRT or NMTCB certification upon hire - Required
- CPR - issued through an organization requiring hands-on skills (e.g., AHA, Red Cross) - upon hire - Required
Education
- High School Diploma / GED - Required
- Certificate in Radiology - Required
Experience
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience and/or training in a CHOP-affiliated program - Required
- Pediatric Experience - Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of MRI Imaging - Required proficiency
- Intermediate knowledge of Radiology Information System - Required proficiency
- Provides Family Centered Care - Required proficiency
- Ability to assess children and families (Age-specific competency) - Required proficiency
- Ability to handle confidential matters - Required proficiency
- Strong organizational skills - Required proficiency
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette - Required proficiency
