Position Title: CT Technologist - Overnights - Wed. - Fri. at Bell Hospital

Position Summary / Career Interest

Shifts: Overnights - Wed. - Fri.

The CT Technologist is responsible for producing cross-sectional images for diagnosing disease processes. Procedures are performed at various locations including the Main Campus, West Plaza, Medical Office Building, and Westwood. The role involves ongoing training and education participation.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

1. Act as a liaison for communication between departments and assist with approved special projects.
2. Assist in developing continuing education strategies to support staff enrichment.
3. Provide teaching and learning opportunities to technologists and students.
4. Ensure equipment operation adheres to policies, procedures, and protocols for safety and optimal performance.
5. Operate CT scanners and auxiliary devices within designated locations, maintaining safety and minimizing radiation dose.
6. Coordinate patient examinations efficiently to minimize hospital stay.
7. Maintain knowledge of contrast reactions, respond promptly to patient needs.
8. Complete mandatory educational assignments as directed.
9. Perform routine CT procedures to a high standard and develop skills for specialty studies.
10. Set equipment parameters, assess and educate patients, prepare patients, and administer contrast safely.
11. Support the Mission and Vision of KU Hospital aiming for 'World Class' status.
12. Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring professional and technical competencies.

Required Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree.
• High School Graduate.
• Experience with basic CT procedures.
• 1-3 years of experience in a large facility.

Required Licensure and Certification

• Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) within 90 days.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Computed Tomography (CT) - ARRT certification.
• Radiography (R) - ARRT certification within 180 days.

Knowledge Requirements

• High computer skills related to RIS, PACS, EMR.
