Position Summary

Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor conducive to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful procedure completion.
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality.
  • Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assess the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provide instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Position patient and equipment, manipulate technical factors to produce high-quality images.
  • Assess images for quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
  • Participate in Quality Control standards and tasks.
  • Proficiently administer contrast medication with and without power injectors.
  • Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as prescribed.
  • Administer medical aid in case of adverse reactions or emergencies.
  • Use standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Supervise student technologists and train new technologists.
  • Utilize all radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all patients and staff.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, guidelines, and education requirements.
Qualifications

Education/Training

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

Valid Florida Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT or NMTCB certification in (CT). Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
