Qualifications

• Graduate from an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.

Job Description

Perform CT scan studies of anatomical areas as ordered and directed, following established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist, prepare, and position patients for imaging procedures.
• Perform CT scans and other diagnostic exams.
• Use technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to protocols and patient needs.
• Educate patients about procedures, including instructions and the area to be imaged.
• Operate all CT imaging equipment, including injectors.
• Prepare patients with aseptic solutions and sterile drapes.
• Assist in preparing sterile surgical instruments and supplies for CT biopsies.
• Support physicians during procedures, including room setup and handling equipment.
• Load and program contrast media injectors per departmental procedures.
• Configure and operate equipment, establishing appropriate protocols under radiologist supervision.
• Coordinate scan protocols with radiologists.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff through safety techniques.
• Perform quality assurance procedures.
• Label images correctly and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
• Maintain cleanliness and supplies in the imaging room.
• Record patient tracking information accurately in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
• Schedule and complete exams in IDX.
• Assist with clerical duties and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to infection control policies to prevent spread of infection.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Maintain licensure and certifications required by the state and professional bodies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.
• At least 2 years of progressive CT experience (consideration for new graduates).
• Strong technical skills, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and patient positioning.
• Current New York State License (L.R.T.).
• ARRT certification with current CT credential.
• CPR certification.
