Position Title:
CT Technologist (Levels 1-2) - Pediatric - PRN
Department:
Pediatric Radiology
Job Description:

CT Technologist PRN positions are available at levels 1-2, depending on experience and education.

General Description:

Under general supervision, produces specialized images to aid the medical staff in the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients using computed tomography equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.

  1. Operates a computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes.
  2. Informs patient of the procedure positions and immobilizes patient and sets up any supportive devices necessary to obtain an adequate scan.
  3. Provides patient care essential to the performance of a variety of procedures.
  4. Positions patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated.
  5. Administers contrast/medication in conjunction with imaging procedure.
  6. Responsible for entering technical data into the computer; evaluates the radiographs and computer-generated information to ensure technical quality.
  7. Serves as a resource person for hospital and medical staff.
General Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level 1:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program or within six weeks of graduation. CAAHEP accredited program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty preferred.

Experience: 0-3 years required; CT experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: ARRT registration required within 6 months of hire. Advanced Certification in CT by ARRT required within 12 months. Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Level 2:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program; CAAHEP accredited program preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technologist required. Experience in the specialty preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Current CT credentials required by the hiring department. BLS certification required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and Computer Aided Tomography. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Organizational and analytical skills.
