Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Lead CT Technologist to oversee the daily CT Department operations, guiding technical functions and resource use based on patient load. The role emphasizes radiation protection, staff training, and adherence to ARRT standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include performance improvement activities, quality control, and proficient CT procedures while maintaining professional conduct and patient safety as core priorities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Two years’ experience performing CT procedures preferred.
• Certified or temporary certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist; ARRT Radiology and CT certification; BLS per policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the CT Department and direct technical functions based on patient load.
• Optimize radiation use following Image Gently, Image Wisely and professional standards.
• Ensure staff training, competence, and adherence to ARRT ethics and hospital policies.
• Maintain Performance Improvement and Quality Control activities for CT services.
• Perform CT procedures in accordance with ARRT standards and hospital procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Lead CT Technologist shall be responsible for the daily operation of the CT Department. Monitors and directs all technical functions, which includes efficient utilization of equipment and human resources based upon patient load. Optimizes the use of radiation by utilizing the concepts of Image Gently ,Image Wisely and the American College of Radiology. Ensures the staff is trained and competent. Maintains Performance Improvement and Quality Control activities. Responsible for performing CT procedures in accordance with standards and practice set forth by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and Hospital Pol icies and Procedures. The Lead CT Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, medication safety (contrast) and specialized techniques. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David’s Healthcare Values.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

• Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology and advanced certification ARRT CT

EXPERIENCE:

Two years’ experience performing Computed Tomography procedures is preferred.

LICENSED/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

• Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist; and
• Certified in Radiology and CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, RTR, CT)
• BLS required per St. David’s HealthCare policy
