Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time CT Technologist for the Weekend Program at Lake Forest Hospital. The role runs Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., with on-call and holiday rotation, and offers premium pay in addition to base pay.

As part of the Weekend Program, you will perform imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate documentation while supporting department goals and patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• IEMA Accreditation required for Illinois.
• BLS certification required.
• Preferred: 1 year radiology experience.
• ARRT CT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols.
• Apply professional judgment within protocols to optimize image quality.
• Administers contrast per policy with patient monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Documents exam setup and results in medical records and archives.
• Adheres to ethics, safety standards, and compliance.

This is a part time position at 20 hours per week located at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital. This role is a part of the Weekend Program and offers premium pay on top of base pay. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday 10a-830p, with on call and holiday rotation. **

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

Licensure:

• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation

Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:

• 1 year experience
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT)
