Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL seeks a CT Technologist II for weekend shifts. You will perform diagnostic CT imaging, ensure patient safety, and adhere to radiation safety standards while supporting quality patient care.

Must have CT experience, Florida licensure, and ARRT/NMTCB credentials. The role includes dual-imaging responsibilities and acting as a preceptor for onboarding and training staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Minimum two years CT experience; proficiency in advanced imaging (3D Lab/IR or Cardiac).
  • Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding and cross-training.
  • Dual imaging roles with current proficiency in a secondary modality.
  • Current Florida BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Florida licensure as Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT CT or NMTCB CT or NMTCB CNMT with ARRT CT certification required.

  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Positions patient, equipment, and devices to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality and proper annotation.
  • Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
  • Participates in Quality Control tasks and uses radiology systems effectively.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast administration with/without power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for contrast administration.
  • Administers medical aid for adverse reactions or emergencies.
  • Uses standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Supervises student technologists and trains new technologists.
  • Utilizes Corporate Radiology systems accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains regular attendance per Orlando Health policies.

A Brief Overview

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

What You Will Do

  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures the safety of all customers.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or
  • Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Mandatory minimum of two (2) years’ CT experience and experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging.
  • Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training.
  • Primary responsibility: Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality.
  • Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
  • Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: * Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or * Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT); or * Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CNMT) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Certification (CT).
