Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures with emphasis on safety and high-quality results. You will evaluate patient condition, prepare and position patients, and operate imaging equipment to support accurate diagnoses.

The role requires Florida licensure, ARRT, and NMTCB(ct) certifications, along with BLS. You will collaborate with a large healthcare system across diverse facilities and participate in training new technologists.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Florida Radiologic Technologist licensure and ARRT certification.
  • NMTCB in CT and BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality patient care during diagnostic imaging procedures for accurate interpretation.
  • Adheres to radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment to obtain high-quality images.
  • Performs contrast administration with/without power injectors and venipuncture.

Position Summary

Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members. Areas of clinical excellence are orthopedics, heart and vascular, cancer care, neurosciences, surgery, pediatric specialties, neonatology, women's health and trauma.

Position Summary

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Essential Functions
  • Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluatesIV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements
Education/Training

Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida and

Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or

Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT)

Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
