Job summary

Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, Maine is seeking a full-time CT Scan Technologist to perform CT and x-ray examinations with attention to radiation safety and patient care, delivering diagnostic-quality images for radiologist interpretation.

The role requires ARRT RT and CT registry (or registry-eligible with plan to obtain CT within 18 months), Maine licensure, and a commitment to teamwork, continuing education, and rotating shifts including weekends and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R(RT) and R(CT)(or registry eligible). To keep position must become R(CT) within 18 months.
• Current licensure by the State of Maine as required by the Medical Radiation Health and Safety Act.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT scan procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures within standard time frames.
• Maintains equipment in good operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Prepares and orients patients to the procedures.
• Is cooperative and helpful in a clear and courteous manner to co-workers, staff, patients and visitors.
• Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of CT scan technology and participates in continuing education.
• Performs radiologic procedures in accordance with departmental protocols when not assigned to CT scan duties.
• Keeps current on issues with radiation safety dose and patient care.
