Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL, is seeking a CT technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations per orders, prepare contrast materials, and monitor patients for safety. You will position patients, maintain ALARA standards, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.

Ideal candidates have CT experience on GE scanners, ARRT-CT or equivalent certification, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred; high school diploma required.
• Prior CT experience on GE CT scanners is required.
• ARRT-CT and BLS certifications required or preferred as noted.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT examinations per orders and protocols.
• Prepare IV contrast and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Position patients safely and educate about the exam.
• Document results in EMR and PACS.

Job Description

Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications. Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. Other duties as assigned.
