Job summary

The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Manager of CT and Director of Imaging Services. Under general supervision, you will perform high-quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols for patients from pediatric to geriatric ages.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved school of radiologic technology.
• Work Experience: 1 year of Radiologic experience.
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA), and must obtain Advanced Modality registration within 1 year of hire date.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols.
• Utilize all CT resources to accommodate pediatric through geriatric patients.
• Assist in interpretation by a physician as needed; report to CT Manager and Imaging Services Director.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Work Experience: 0-2 years of modality specific experience. Registration/Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT CT Registration required within 1 year in position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
