Job Responsibilities for CT Technologist
- Provide technical expertise to operate CT Scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to acquire images for radiologist diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
- Maintain the ability to operate different CT Systems across multiple locations.
- Follow protocols based on ImageGently Guidelines, including the use of CT scanner’s dose monitoring programs that notify when scans exceed preset levels.
- Possess extensive knowledge of clinical histories to match appropriate protocols, and understand major organ and vascular systems for Thoracic, Abdominal, Pelvic, Neuro, and Musculoskeletal imaging.
- Obtain CT images following established protocols, ensuring patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and protective shielding are correctly applied, with appropriate technical factors selected.
- Perform CT Interventional Procedures and CTA imaging, including advanced studies such as TAVR, EVAR, and Cardiac imaging.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacology to ensure lab results are available prior to exams.
- Understand physiology to produce quality scans under less than ideal conditions.
- Apply physics knowledge to minimize patient dose during scans.
- Adjust technical factors to enhance image quality or speed of scans.
