**Job Summary**
Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to the patient by performing all exams provided by the department according to department procedures. Has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study. Responsible for performing various technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Able to independently perform job functions. Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions patients for the procedure.

**Facility: North Fulton Hospital**

**Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:**

• Verifies proper clinician order for procedure.
• Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses for contraindicating conditions.
• Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast medias to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Ensures proper patient identification and correct use of right/left markers.
• Reviews images for quality and releases patients.
• Responds to emergency situations and maintains life support equipment.
• Assists other technologists and observes patient condition for physician intervention.
• Verifies patient identity using two identifiers prior to procedures.
• Maintains patient privacy, dignity, and comfort throughout exams.
• Demonstrates competence in procedures, equipment, and patient care based on age.
• Organizes schedule and priorities effectively.
• Prepares patients for procedures and maintains sterile technique.
• Operates equipment efficiently, reports malfunctions, and maintains infection control standards.
• Explains procedures to patients, addresses questions, and provides instructions.
• Participates in training and documentation.
• Ensures quality control and proper operation of equipment.
• Performs departmental operations including restocking, patient transport, and clerical duties.
• Maintains compliance with policies and standards, and takes call as needed.

**Minimum Education:** Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiology Technology.

**Certifications required upon hire:**
