Job summary

Adventist Health Simi Valley is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT equipment and produce diagnostic images. This role also handles general radiography and fluoroscopy as needed, while maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records.

Applicants should have an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and state licensure in CA, plus ARRT CT certification and BLS. Fluoroscopy and venipuncture certifications may be required, with on-site responsibilities at the Simi Valley facility.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
• ARRT RT (CT) certification or equivalent required.
• Radiologic Tech license in the practicing state required (CA).
• BLS certification required per AH policy.
• Fluoroscopy license required in CA if operating fluoroscopy equipment.
• Venipuncture certification required in CA if venipuncture is performed.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients from adolescence to geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology to transfer images to the correct location.
• Maintains accurate records and billing information; ensures HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Performs routine maintenance/calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA, if employee operates fluoroscopy equipment
• Venipuncture certification: Required in CA, if employees performs venipuncture to administer contrast materials

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
• Maintains accurate records, files and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
