Job description

Position Summary:

Join NYU Langone Health as a Cat Scan Technologist/IV Cert. In this role, you will perform radiographic and CT procedures, utilizing CT scanners to produce images for diagnosis. You will interpret physicians' instructions, administer contrast materials, operate equipment, and position patients appropriately.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform quality imaging and archive data properly.
  2. Complete examinations efficiently within reasonable time.
  3. Transmit and segment images for PACS display.
  4. Generate high-quality hard copies of images as needed.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of radiology areas.
  6. Prepare equipment and supplies for upcoming exams.
  7. Adjust work schedule for STAT and emergency cases.
  8. Recognize medical emergencies and notify appropriate personnel promptly.
  9. Follow radiation safety procedures, including use of gonadal shielding and beam restriction.
  10. Maintain radiation detection badges and rings.
  11. Assist in training cross-trained technologists and instruct on complex procedures.
  12. Use hospital and radiology information systems effectively, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Schedule and modify exams in RIS as needed.
  14. Administer IV contrast media, explaining procedures to patients, and coordinating with radiologists and LIPs.
  15. Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • New York State license
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • IV Contrast Certification within 3 months of employment
  • Advanced Certification in CT
