Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Computed Tomography to perform exams and ensure quality control. The role includes evaluating orders with radiologists, screening for contrast contraindications, and coordinating with hospital staff to support patient care.

Responsibilities extend to maintaining competencies, and working weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.

Qualifications

• Must have current BCLS certification.
• 2 years prior Computed Tomography and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
• Membership in related professional organization preferred.
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Performs all Computed Tomography exams; conducts quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer; verifies orders with radiologist when needed.
• Screens patients for contraindications to oral or IV contrast and coordinates with care teams.
• Interacts with hospital staff to address patient care, concerns, and conflicts; assists in resolutions.
• Keeps up-to-date performance skills and is available for weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and on-call as needed.
