Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a CT Technologist to join the Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) across our Georgia facilities.

You will perform CT exams, verify patient identity, communicate with empathy, and follow ALARA standards to deliver high-quality images and a safe patient experience. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule with 12-, 10-, or 8-hour shifts, relocation assistance where eligible, and access to Wellstar’s education and career progression programs as you grow

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting.
• Certifications ARRT-R (Radiography).
• ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams per physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards.
• Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications (including contrast risk).
• Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients/families with empathy and confidence.
• Prepare and position patients; assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization/shielding as needed.
• Establish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency.
• Administer contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions; escalate concerns promptly.
• Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely; confirm proper anatomical markers and scan parameters.
• Optimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA).
• Evaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings/clinical changes, and involve the radiologist/physician when indicated.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time; manage RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs/logs when required.
• Perform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance/audit standards.
• Maintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage/clerical needs, keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned/disinfected, participating in on‑call, and adhering to regulatory/Joint Commission standards.
