Job summary

Rush Specialty Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a CT Technologist for Per Diem shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends. The role involves preparing patients for CT procedures, operating the CT scanner, administering contrast as directed, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.

Qualified candidates must have ARRT or CMRT, 2+ years radiologic technologist experience, 1+ year CT experience, BLS, and active CE credits; strong patient care and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Registered Radiologic Technologist with a current state license.
• CT Technologist with at least 1 year of CT experience.
• ARRT or CMRT certification.
• BLS certification is required.
• Current continuing education in licensure fields.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process.
• Position patient and set technical factors to produce quality images.
• Operate CT scanner to acquire cross-sectional images.
• Administer contrast media as directed by the physician.
• Monitor the patient for adverse drug events and report as needed.
• Perform routine quality assurance on CT equipment.
• Handle clerical duties as needed, such as answering phones.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and hold current state license (as required).


• At least 1 year experience as a CT Technologist (not including school).


• Must have ARRT or CMRT certification.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• Must be current with Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating facility-specific equipment desirable.
