Job summary

Rush Specialty Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Per Diem CT Technologist to join our post-ICU recovery and rehab team. You will perform cross‑sectional CT scans, position patients, and manage contrast administration in a fast-paced hospital setting.

This PRN position offers very flexible hours including evenings, nights, and weekends. The ideal candidate has at least 1–2 years CT experience, ARRT or CMRT certification, and active state licensure with BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have ARRT or CMRT certification and an active state license where required.
• 2+ years as Radiologic Technologist with CT experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification and ongoing CE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for CT procedures and ensure a comfortable environment.
• Position patient correctly and set technical factors for quality scans.
• Operate CT scanner to produce cross‑sectional images as ordered.
• Administer contrast media per physician directions.
• Monitor for adverse events and report as needed.
• Perform routine QA on equipment and address basic malfunctions.
• Handle clerical tasks such as answering phones when needed.

Position: CT Technologist

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Per Diem / PRN - Evening Shifts, Night Shifts and/or weekend shifts available - Very Flexible Hours

Compensation: $50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and creating a comfortable environment.

• Use of proper patient positioning and technical factors to consistently produce quality diagnostic studies.

• Correctly operate a CT scanner to produce cross-sectional images of desired patient anatomy.

• Administer contrast media as directed by referring physician.

• Monitor the patient for any adverse drug events and report accordingly.

• Perform routine quality assurance on equipment and identify basic malfunctions.

• Perform clerical duties, as needed, such as answering phones.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 2 years experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and hold current state license (as required).

• At least 1 year experience as a CT Technologist (not including school).

• Must have ARRT or CMRT certification.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Must be current with Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating facility-specific equipment desirable.
