Job summary

UPMC Horizon – Greenville is hiring a Flex Full-time CT Technologist to join the Imaging Team. This role will work variable shifts, with weekend coverage required and rotating holiday coverage. Travel to UPMC Shenango Valley may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration without requiring constant supervision.
• Utilizes complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol.
• Ensures all exams are coded and tracked through RIS, networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and charges entered.
• Administers PO, rectal and IV contrast per physician orders and assesses patient risk before administration.
• Communicates instructions to patients clearly to address fears and gain cooperation.
• Performs procedures requiring independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply ionizing radiation appropriately.
• Interacts with patients and co-workers with care, dignity and respect, functioning as a team player within the department and beyond.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers and applies universal protocol; reviews history and orders, documents in the EHR.
• Demonstrates proper venipuncture technique and power injector use per protocols.
