Job summary

Intermountain Health, Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado, is seeking CT Technologists to join our radiology team. Maintain ARRT competency, operate CT equipment, verify patient info, and perform exams per protocol while ensuring safety and high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) on hire required.
• CT Technologist ARRT (R)(CT) preferred.
• BLS certification within 60 days required.
• Licensure in state of practice upon hire required.
• IV competency within 90 days required.
• Fluoroscopy certification preferred for Colorado postings.
• 1–2 years CT hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Operate CT equipment and information systems to produce quality images.
• Ensure patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation.
• Perform CT exams per department protocol.
• Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy with complete anatomy coverage.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
• Complete studies within department time expectations without compromising care or quality.
• Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with other providers.
• Stay updated on CT advancements through continuing education.
• Instruct students and junior staff in protocols, positioning, and equipment.

Shift Details: 36 hours, three 12-hour shifts, Monday - Wednesday 12:00pm-12:30am

Good Samaritan Hospital is a community-based, acute-care hospital in Lafayette, Colorado. We opened on December 1, 2004, and are part of Intermountain Health, a nonprofit health system. Essential Functions:

• Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job
• Understand and operate CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure production of quality images.
• Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
• Perform exams per department protocol.
• Review and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary anatomical structures are captured.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
• Provide appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and/or family concerns.
• Coordinate patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Assist and instruct students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.

Level I Technologist Minimum Qualifications:

• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire, Required
• Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT), Preferred
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days, Required
• Licensure in state of practice as applicable, Upon Hire, Required
• IV Competency within 90 Days, Required
• For caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy certification, Preferred
• Specific facility-based certification may also be required for this role. If this applies, each facility will define and manage compliance
• 1-2 years Work Experience CT Experience in a hospital setting, Preferred

Level II Technologist Minimum Qualifications:

• Current ARRT (R) (CT) registration.
• Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire (with prior approval).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT Technologist.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and skill in recognition of normal and abnormal variants.
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety.
