Job summary

MemorialCare's Long Beach Medical Center is seeking a qualified CT Technologist for the CAT Scan department, under radiologist direction. You will perform CT imaging on pediatric and adult patients, ensuring safety and precision in a busy imaging center.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' computer tomography experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' general radiologic technology experience preferred.
• CAHEA/JRCERT/AMA approved school of radiologic technology is required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies the appropriate tests to be performed. Produces high quality radiographs and administers safe contrast media.
• Evaluates and attends to patient’s physical and emotional needs before, during and after exams to ensure proper patient care.
• Prepares equipment for procedures and ensures cleanliness of exam area and equipment.
• Maintains accurate record-keeping and clerical duties for each exam to meet department and Joint Commission requirements; records procedures for accurate billing.
• Utilizes RIS and related interfaces to contribute to automated patient care goals.
• Participates in patient flow to ensure timely and efficient care.
• Supports physician relationships with clear communication and timely follow-up; assists radiologist with findings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
